Call for Papers

Now Closed for Abstract Submissions

CIRIA and LivingRoofs welcome the submission of abstracts from colleagues with experience on the following two topics (shown below). Guidance on format for abstract submission can be found below.

From the submitted abstracts, we will select a number of entries and then notify the authors to provide a full paper – see key dates for submission of full papers. These papers will be presented on Day two of the conference.

All papers and presentations need to be submitted and presented in English.

Lifecycle of implementing green roofs and green walls:

  • Planning green roofs and green walls
  • Designing green roofs and green walls
  • Constructing and managing green roofs and green walls
  • Local, Regional and National Standards for green roofs and green walls
  • City and Regional initiatives
  • Case studies design, client, contractor lead.

Evidence base behind green roofs and green walls:

  • Performance for biodiversity
  • Performance for stormwater management
  • Performance for climate change adaptation
  • Performance for improving amenity and 'place making'
  • Financial performance
  • Other Benefits.

Abstract submission guidelines

Submit abstracts to charles.perkin@ciria.org
Please state World Green Roof Congress 2008 Abstract in the title of your email

TITLE: The title should be short, preferably less than 10 words.
AUTHOR(S): Provide contact details of each author including name, surname, organisation and email.
KEYWORDS: Provide up to 5 keywords (consider using at least 2 from the topics shown above).
BACKGROUND: Provide a short summary of the relevant industrial background and problem addressed.
OBJECTIVES: Define the "tangible and measurable" objectives of the work to be presented in the paper.
METHODOLOGY: Describe briefly the methodology that are/were used to achieve the objectives.
RESULTS: Provide a short summary of the results.
IMPACT: Briefly describe the potential impact of your results for the industry or for further research.
   
Abstract ID no (to be assigned by conference organisers)

Participants wishing to present a contribution are invited to submit an abstract relating to the conference topics. The abstract should be typewritten in English (preferably in MS Word), not exceeding 300 words, on no more than one A4 size page. The abstract should be emailed to charles.perkin@ciria.org . Please follow the suggested layout as below:
