Congress Overview
Background
The World Green Roof Congress (WGRC) brings together leading green roof experts from over ten countries, providing a platform for communicating inspirational case studies, research and policy initiatives. This exciting and respected Congress promotes the implementation and use of green roofs, giving a greater understanding of their benefits while stimulating innovation.
The Congress
Supported by the Greater London Authority, the European Federation of Green Roof Associations, International Green Roof Association, Green Roofs Healthy Cities, CIWEM and Allen & Overy LLP this inspiring Congress promotes the implementation of green roofs providing a greater appreciation of their benefits, through education shifting their implementation from 'quirky' exceptions to the mainstream rule.
Day 1: a practical overview of green roofs, demonstrating their application and showcasing the benefits. There will be a series of inspiring keynote presentations highlighting achievements, both in the UK and overseas.
Day 2: allows delegates to view the evidence supporting the benefits as well as the life cycle of implementing green roofs. The Congress will highlight the latest innovations and research to support the effective delivery of green roofs.

The GLA are delighted to host the World Green Roof Congress pre-registration reception on the 16 September 2008 from 18.00-20.00 at City Hall, London SE1 2AA.

The Venue
The two day conference is being held at the prestigious offices of Allen & Overy LLP in Bishopsgate in the heart of the City, which has a series of green tiers, with roof gardens overlooking the plaza below. This green roof building serves two benefits to the Congress:
